The catalyst for TripleWin Consulting is General Motors’ Saturn Corporation. Nancy Brown-Johnstone (The Driving Force of TripleWin), cofounded and served as the director of Saturn Consulting Services (SCS), where she led the development of the SCS courses.
From the beginning Saturn operated by a set of values and philosophy that can be simply summarized as win-win. This win-win approach was implemented in many facets of the operations – e.g. union-management relationships, leader-to-team member interactions, customers-to-retailer transactions, and in retailer-to-company relationships – the spirit of win-win is one of Saturn’s strategic advantages. The strongest results at Saturn came in the innovative approach Saturn uses with its customers (People First) and in the strength of the Saturn value-based organisational culture. Saturn changed peoples’ lives and created a successful new approach.
Due to its phenomenal success, Saturn Consulting Services responded to hundreds of requests from companies around the globe wanting to learn from the Saturn approach. They organised tours, and travelled the world delivering speeches, training, consulting services with effective experiential learning approaches assisting more than 200 external customers, including Chevrolet, Opel, Saab, Delphi Automotive Systems, the U.S. Army, U.S.P.S., Zeneca Ag Products, and the Singapore Government.
The team was disbanded in 2000, and the training and consulting resources were redeployed inside Saturn and General Motors. In 2002, Nancy founded TripleWin Consulting and purchased all legal rights to the SCS programs. TripleWin Consulting are the sole legal representatives delivering Saturn based programs.
In line with the pace of change and current developments new courses and services have been added to the original Saturn training programs to meet customer needs.
Many have tried to copy the format, but it is not just the product, but the synergy of the whole that still continues the original philosophy and spirit of Saturn, which can be found in every TripleWin Alliance Member, TripleWin Program and TripleWin Service, which includes consulting, coaching, training course design and delivery as well as speakers in the areas of:
